How to apply (आवेदन कसरी दिने)

Read the advertisement (विज्ञापन) for your post on psc.gov.np or your province PSC site. It lists the minimum qualification, age limit, service/group, level, fee and deadlines.
Create one account on the online application system (psconline1.psc.gov.np for the federal PSC, or your province's own portal) and complete your profile: personal details, citizenship, education, photo and signature. Our photo & signature resizer can help with the upload size.
Apply to the advertisement number from your account and pay the exam fee online with one of the payment options listed in the portal.
Apply before the normal deadline. PSC advertisements also give a later deadline with a double fee (दोब्बर दस्तुर); check the exact dates in the notice.
Download and print your admit card (प्रवेशपत्र) from the same portal when the commission publishes it, and keep checking for the exam centre (परीक्षा केन्द्र) notice.

Selection process (छनौट प्रक्रिया)

Most civil service posts are filled through open and inclusive competition with a written examination followed by an interview (अन्तर्वार्ता). Officer-level posts usually have the written exam in two phases, and some technical posts add a practical or skill test.

The written exam follows the published syllabus (पाठ्यक्रम) for each service, group and level. Candidates who pass the written exam are invited to interview, and the final recommendation (सिफारिस) is published as a result notice.

Details such as the number of papers, marks and negative marking differ by post. Always read the syllabus and advertisement for your post.

Start with the syllabus for your level, then practise with timed mock tests that follow the same pattern.

Where is the official Lok Sewa Aayog vacancy (bigyapan) published?

Federal PSC advertisements are published on psc.gov.np under Advertisement, and each provincial PSC posts its own on its website. Applications are made online: psconline1.psc.gov.np for the federal commission, and each province's own portal for provincial posts. This page links to every one of them.

What is the difference between federal and provincial Lok Sewa?

The federal Public Service Commission recruits for the federal civil service. The seven provincial Public Service Commissions recruit for their provincial civil service and for posts in the local levels (municipalities and rural municipalities) of that province. You apply on separate portals.

Can I apply after the deadline?

PSC advertisements usually give a second, later deadline during which you can still apply by paying double the fee (दोब्बर दस्तुर). After that date applications close. The exact dates are printed in each advertisement.

What does स्वीकृत नामावली (approved list) mean?

It is the list of applicants whose applications were accepted for an advertisement. If you applied, check that your name and roll number appear, then watch for the exam centre and schedule notices.

How do I download the Lok Sewa admit card?

Log in to the same online portal where you applied and download the admit card (प्रवेशपत्र) once the commission makes it available. Our PSC login guide walks through the steps for the federal and provincial portals.

Is this the official PSC website?
