Pre-Qualification Written Examination Notice: PSC Nepal

The Public Service Commission (PSC) of Nepal has announced the Pre-Qualification Written Examination for open competitive positions in non-gazetted second and fourth class posts such as Technical Assistant (Prabidhik Sahayak) and Kharidar in affiliated institutions. This notice is in accordance with Article 23K(1) of the revised Public Service Commission Act, 2079.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Minimum Qualification:
    Candidates must have passed the S.L.C. (School Leaving Certificate) or equivalent from a recognized educational institution.
  • For Grading System Students:
    A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required for eligibility.
  • Age Requirement (as of 2082/04/27):
    • General Candidates: Must be between 18 and 35 years old.
    • Female and differently-abled candidates: Up to 40 years old.
    • No age limit for existing permanent employees of the affiliated institutions, but they must be employed at the time of this announcement.

Application Procedure

  • Mode of Examination: Written test.
  • Application Method: Online application must be submitted via https://psconline1.psc.gov.np
  • Examination Fee:
    • Single Fee: NPR 200
    • Double Fee (for late submission): NPR 400
  • Application Deadline:
    • Normal Fee: Till 2082/04/27
    • Double Fee: Till 2082/05/03
  • Where to Pay Fees:
    Fees must be paid through banks using the voucher printed from the PSC online system. The payment should be made under the applicant’s Master ID and token number.

Required Documents

Applicants must upload:

  • Educational certificates as per the post applied (in PDF format)
  • Citizenship certificate (front side only, in JPG format)
  • Proof for reservation claims, if applicable.

Note: Missing or incorrectly uploaded documents will result in application rejection.


Exam Details

  • Admit Card and Exam Center: The exam will be held in multiple centers across Nepal including Ilam, Kankai, Khotang, Lahan, Hetauda, Kathmandu, Pokhara, Dhading, Butwal, Dang, Surkhet, Jumla, Dipayal, and Mahendranagar.
  • Exam Date: 2082 Bhadra 4 (2:00 PM onwards)

Important Guidelines for Candidates

  1. Candidates applying for the main written exam must first pass this Pre-Qualification Test and obtain its official certificate.
  2. Applicants must hold all required academic certificates by the last date of application.
  3. Applications without valid minimum qualifications, fee payment, or complete documentation will be automatically disqualified.
  4. Only those who have created a Master ID profile on PSC’s online portal can apply.
  5. The selected exam center cannot be changed later.
  6. Candidates can apply under the reserved category at least 10 days before the exam by contacting the PSC office.
  7. The exam will be based on OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) answer sheets, and only black ink pens are allowed.

Additional Notes

  • Candidates suspended due to violations in prior PSC exams are not eligible for this exam during the suspension period.
  • Affiliated organizations may have their own additional terms and qualifications, which candidates must fulfill.
  • This pre-qualification exam certificate will be valid for 1 year for applying to affiliated institutions’ main exams.
