First Paper Syllabus Sec. Level Teacher Service Overview:

 Written Examination Overview:

  1. Total Written Exam Marks: 200

    1. Paper 1: General Examination – 100 Marks

    2. Paper 2: Subject-Specific Examination – 100 Marks

  2. Candidates must pass the General Examination to qualify for the Subject-Specific Examination.

  3. Final results will be calculated as:
    Marks obtained in Subject Exam + 50% of General Exam Marks

 General Examination (Paper 1)

  • Full Marks: 100

  • Pass Marks: 50

  • Total Questions: 50

  • Marks per Question: 2

  • Question Type: Objective / Multiple Choice (MCQs)

  • Time Duration: 1 Hour

  • Negative Marking: 0.2 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. No marks will be deducted for unanswered questions.

  • This exam is common for all advertised subjects.

Paper 2: Subject-Specific Examination Details:

  • Full Marks: 100

  • Pass Marks: 40

  • Total Questions: 10

  • Marks per Question: 10

  • Question Type: Subjective / Analytical (written answers)

  • Time Duration: 3 Hours

    • Weightage: 40 Marks

  2. Basic Educational Knowledge

    • Weightage: 24 Marks

    • Number of Questions: 12

  3. Intellectual Ability Test (IQ Test)

    • Weightage: 16 Marks

    • Number of Questions: 8

  4. Information and Communication Technology (ICT)

    • Weightage: 10 Marks

    • Number of Questions: 5

  5. Constitution, Education Act, and Rules

    • Weightage: 10 Marks

    • Number of Questions: 5

Key Notes:

  1. A time limit of 1 hour is set for the objective/multiple-choice examination.

  2. For each incorrect answer in the objective/multiple-choice questions, 20% of the marks allocated to that question will be deducted. However, no marks will be deducted for unanswered questions.

  3. Even if a particular law (Act, Regulation) or policy is mentioned in this syllabus, any amendment made up to 3 months before the exam date (either added, removed, or updated) will be considered part of the syllabus.

  4. The General Examination will be common for all advertised subject areas.

  5. Only those candidates who pass the General Examination will be eligible to appear in the Subject-Specific Examination.

  6. The final written exam result will be prepared by adding 50% of the marks obtained in the General Exam to the marks obtained in the Subject-Specific Exam.

3. Geography of Nepal

  • Geographical location and landform features

  • Natural resources: types, availability, and current status

  • Geographical diversity and human lifestyle

  • Climate types, characteristics, and impacts

4. History, Culture, and Social System of Nepal

  • Ancient period: Kirat and Lichhavi eras

  • Medieval period: social, economic, and political aspects

  • Modern history: major political events, causes, and effects

  • Structure of Nepalese society

  • Social customs, traditions, values, and beliefs

  • Cultural heritage: types, condition, features, importance, and preservation

5. Economic Development of Nepal

  • Nature of Nepalese economy

  • Infrastructure of development: education, health, agriculture, industry, trade, tourism, transportation, communication, electricity

  • Types of Computers: Desktop, laptop, tablet, mainframe, supercomputers – based on purpose and capacity.

  • Hardware Components: Input devices (keyboard, mouse), output devices (monitor, printer), storage devices (HDD, SSD), CPU, RAM.

  • Software Types:

    • System Software: Operating systems like Windows, Linux.

    • Application Software: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint for document creation, calculations, and presentations.

  • Email and Internet:

    • Basics of email creation, sending, receiving.

    • Internet browsing, search engines, downloading/uploading content.

2. Basic Knowledge of Common Software Used in Schools

  • Use of educational software for managing:

    • Attendance and exam results.
